The Nuclear Company proposes a 6.6 GW AP1000 campus in Kentucky

Prosperity One would be larger than any nuclear plant now operating in the US.

The Nuclear Company has proposed Prosperity One, a campus of up to six Westinghouse AP1000 reactors in Lewis County, Kentucky. At 6.6 GW, it would be bigger than any existing US plant.

The first phase would include two units. Construction is targeted to start in 2028, after site characterisation, environmental studies and transmission planning. Lewis County expects to be among the first to apply for the state’s “nuclear-ready community” status.
