Deep Fission signs Kansas power deal after short-seller attack

The borehole reactor developer is targeting 150 MW in Parsons, Kansas, by 2028.

Deep Fission has signed a master energy purchase agreement with the Great Plains Development Authority, turning a 2025 letter of intent into a contract. The first target is 150 MW at the Great Plains Industrial Park in Parsons by 2028, with up to 2,000 MW in later phases.

The company is developing a small pressurised water reactor placed about a mile underground in a borehole. The deal comes a month after Iceberg Research, which openly shorts the companies it covers, called the company a “money pit”. The stock has since fallen about 84% below its $16 IPO price. Deep Fission says the report is “highly misleading”.
